Microsoft at SXSW 2010

We are gearing up for the interactive portion of the annual SXSW conference (March 12-16, 2010), in Austin, TX and wanted to share what we have planned and how you can connect with the various Microsoft teams onsite.

Opportunities to Connect with the Microsoft Team:
Be sure to stop by the Microsoft booth to check out the latest from Windows Azure, Bing, Internet Explorer and WebsiteSpark.

Microsoft Sponsored Parties, Lounges and Contests: 
Stop by the Silverlight Interactive Lounge located in the 4th floor corridor of the Austin Convention Center, outside of the panel rooms to experience the digital living room showcase. Friday, March 12 – Tuesday, March 16; Hours: Friday (10 am – 7pm); Saturday (9:00 am – 6:00 pm); Sunday & Monday (9:30 am – 6:00 pm) and Tuesday (10:00 am – 4:00 pm). 

Check out the Windows Phone Bloggers Lounge, located at 19A, to experience the Windows Mobile device bar and grab some snacks during the conference. Friday, March 12 – Tuesday, March 16; Hours: 9:30am – 6:00 pm daily

Join us for the official Microsoft SXSW party at SpeakEasy for drinks and to check out technologies from Windows 7, Windows Phone, Silverlight and Surface, among others. Monday, March 15 from 8:00 pm – midnight

Strike up a conversation with the Microsoft Tag street team to obtain your personal Tag, which will allow friends and other attendees to scan your Tag using their smart phone. The attendee with the most scans at 6:00 pm on Monday, March 15 will win $5,000!

Charitable Activities:
Checkin4Charity: Microsoft is partnering with PayPal and FourSquare to encourage attendees to “check-in” at various locations around Austin. For each check-in, a donation of $0.25 will be made to Save the Children, to benefit children in Haiti.

Salute to our Troops: On Sunday, March 14, Microsoft and SXSW will host a group of wounded soldiers from the Brooke Army Medical Center.

Sara Summers, UXE, Microsoft, will participate in a panel titled, “Your Design Process is Killing You” on Sunday, March 14, at 2:00 pm in the Convention Center: Ballroom E
